Hall’s first goal came on a power play just over four minutes into the game. He then scored his second goal midway through the second period, and completed the hat trick with an empty-net goal in the final minute of the game.
The hat trick was a significant moment for Hall, who has struggled with injuries and inconsistent play in recent seasons. He signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Blackhawks in July, and has shown signs of regaining his former All-Star form.
“This is a big moment for Taylor,” said Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson. “He’s worked hard to get back to this level, and he’s starting to show what he can do.”
Hall’s last hat trick came on March 14, 2013, when he was playing for the Edmonton Oilers. He is the first Blackhawks player to record a hat trick since Patrick Kane did so in April 2021.
Hall’s hat trick is a positive sign for the Blackhawks, who are currently in the midst of a rebuilding process. The team is hoping that Hall can continue to produce and help lead them to a playoff berth in the coming years.
