Former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar has passed away at the age of 44. The news was confirmed by his bandmates on social media.
Bryar was born in New Jersey and joined My Chemical Romance in 2004, replacing Matt Pelissier. He played on the band’s platinum-selling album “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge” and the Grammy Award-winning “The Black Parade.”
Bryar left My Chemical Romance in 2010, citing personal reasons. He later formed the band Leathermouth and released two albums.
The cause of Bryar’s death has not been disclosed. However, his bandmates expressed their condolences and praised his contributions to My Chemical Romance.
Fans and fellow musicians have taken to social media to pay tribute to Bryar, remembering his energetic drumming and infectious personality.
“He was an incredible drummer and an amazing person,” said My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero. “My heart goes out to his family and friends.”
