The Tigers, coming off a successful season that included an appearance in the NCAA Tournament Final Four, will make their first-ever appearance in the Maui Invitational, considered one of the top preseason tournaments in college basketball.
“We are honored and excited to be selected for the Maui Invitational,” said Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl. “This tournament gives us an incredible opportunity to compete against some of the best teams in the country and showcase our abilities on a national stage.”
The Maui Invitational will be held from November 19-21, 2024, at the Lahaina Civic Center in Lahaina, Hawaii. Auburn will join a field that includes some of the most prominent programs in college basketball, including Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, and Gonzaga.
“The Maui Invitational is a perfect fit for our program,” said Auburn athletic director Allen Greene. “It provides a unique experience for our student-athletes and showcases the exceptional level of basketball that is played at Auburn.”
The Tigers enter the 2024 Maui Invitational with high expectations after a historic 2023 season that saw them win a program-record 30 games and earn their first Final Four appearance since 2019. With the talented core led by All-American center Johni Broome and rising star Wendell Green Jr., Auburn is poised for another memorable run next season.
The Maui Invitational will provide a significant early-season test for the Tigers and could serve as a springboard for their national title aspirations. A strong showing in Maui could elevate Auburn’s profile further and establish them as a legitimate contender for the national championship.
