The Basics

Around 31,000 people are under evacuation orders after the Hughes Fire broke out Wednesday near Castaic Lake and quickly grew to more than 9,400 acres. The 5 Freeway was shut down in the Tejon Pass area because of the fire, but it reopened several hours later.

Evacuation Information

Evacuation orders have been issued for several areas in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

Road Closures

The off ramps from I-5 northbound at Parker Road and Lake Hughes Road were closed, as well as Eastbound Parker Road / Ridge Road from The Old Road and Eastbound Lake Hughes Road from The Old Road.
