WR McMillan's 304 Yards Leads No. 21 Arizona Over New Mexico

McMillan, a junior from San Diego, California, was unstoppable against the Lobos. He hauled in 10 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns, including a 79-yarder in the first quarter that set the tone for the game. His performance surpassed the previous Arizona record of 263 receiving yards set by Rob Gronkowski in 2008.

Arizona’s offense, led by quarterback Jayden de Laura, flourished against New Mexico. De Laura completed 30 of 45 passes for 408 yards and four touchdowns, spreading the ball around to eight different receivers. Running back Jonah Coleman added 101 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Despite the deficit, New Mexico never gave up. Quarterback Justin Holaday threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Isaiah Foley rushed for 99 yards. However, the Lobos’ defense struggled to contain McMillan and the Arizona passing attack.

The victory is a much-needed boost for No. 21 Arizona, which dropped its season opener to Mississippi State. It also sets the stage for a pivotal non-conference game against North Dakota State next week.

Arizona will travel to Fargo, North Dakota to face the FCS powerhouse North Dakota State Bison next Saturday. The Bison have been a consistent Top 25 FCS team and will provide a stern test for the Wildcats.
